Three
of
the
City’s
nature
reserves,
Blaauwberg
Nature
Reserve,
Milnerton
Racecourse
Nature
Reserve
and
Rietvlei
Wetland
Reserve,
presented
a
fun
and
entertaining
holiday
programme
during
the
June/July
school
holidays. |
The
programme
started
at
Blaauwberg
Nature
Reserve
where
the
participants
learned
about
our
oceans,
including
finding
out
what
creatures
hide
in
the
rocky
shores
at
Melkbosstrand.
The
week
ended
with
an
adventure
walk
up
Blaauwberg
Hill. |
In
the
second
week
there
were
educational
walks
to
the
top
of
the
Hill,
where
information
about
the
Battle
of
Blaauwberg
was
shared.
Then
the
participants
visited
the
Milnerton
Racecourse
Nature
Reserve
joining
in a
search
for
the
"Little
Big
Five". |
The
third
and
final
week
of
the
programme
continued
at
Rietvlei
Wetland
Reserve
where
participants
learnt
about
the
wonders
of a
wetland,
embarking
on a
treasure
hunt
while
making
their
own
discoveries
about
the
area's
feisty
fish
and
beautiful
birds. |
