Diep River Walk - 5
September 2010 |
|
|
|
|
On a
lovely
Sunday
afternoon
the
spring
flowers
in
the
Diep
River
Corridor
were
out
in
their
full
glory
to
welcome
us
for
our
walk.
Christopher
Singo,
the
Site
Conservation
Officer
for
the
Diep
River,
and
Rifquah
Johnson,
Environmental
Education
intern
at
Rietvlei
Education
Centre,
accompanied
the
group. |
A
surprise
visitor
was
Henk
Louw,
previously
the
site
officer
appointed
by
Friends
of
Rietvlei.
Henk
is
now
working
for
Biodiversity
Management
in
another
area,
but
still
retains
his
interest
in
the
Diep
River
Corridor. |
The
group
walked
from
the
gate
along
the
southern
boundary
towards
the
Diep
River,
then
along
one
of
the
paths
that
cross
the
area
between
Du
Noon
and
Parklands.
Reaching
the
railway
line,
the
group
walked
in a
westerly
direction
to
the
road
that
crosses
the
site
along
its
western
boundary;
then
back
to
where
they
started. |
