Clearing aliens from
reserve - 27 October 2007 |
|
|
|
|
On
Saturday
morning
27
October
2007
a
group
of
local
young
persons
made
a
great
contribution
to
the
reserve
by
removing
several
thousand
invasive
plants
growing
in
the
reserve.
They
cleared
Port
Jackson
seedlings
and
several
other
invasive
plants.
Most
of
the
clearing
was
done
on
the
track
round
north
lake.
The
group
walked
to
the
Bird
Hide
where
they
viewed
a
large
group
of
flamingoes
in
the
distance.
The
walk
back
took
them
to
south
lake
and
through
the
veld
to
the
edge
of
north
lake.
We
thank
them
for
their
wonderful
contribution,
when
it
comes
to
fighting
the
battle
against
alien
infestation,
every
little
bit
helps.
See
some
pictures
of
the
morning
on
