Frieda
Prinsloo

regular
visitors
to
Rietvlei
and
have
taken
some
great
pictures
of
animal
life
at
Rietvlei |

On
Friday
2
August
2013
they
were
in
the
Friends
Bird
Hide
and
saw
an
otter
catching
a
fish
quite
close
to
the
hide.
The
carp,
Cyprinus
carpio,
was
larger
than
the
otter,
but
it
dragged
its
meal
past
the
hide
to a
small
island
nearby
where
it
started
consuming
it.
Frieda
says
they
waited
about
an
hour,
but
the
otter
was
still
feeding
when
they
left
the
hide. |
