A
small
group
of
12
braved
a
strong
south-easter
to
enjoy
a
walk
around
Zoarvlei
on
Sunday
8
March
2009. |

We
met
at
the
end
of
Milner
Street
in
Paarden
Eiland,
at
the
site
where
the
Rapid
Transit
System
route
swings
round
from
the
old
Paarden
Eiland
rail
link
into
Milner
Street.
A
bus
station
will
be
built
here,
and
from
here
the
route
goes
into
Marine
Drive
and
further
north
to
Milnerton
and
Table
View. |

The
walk
took
us
along
the
western
shore
of
Zoarvlei
northwards,
we
then
crossed
the
vlei
to
the
eastern
shore
and
walked
back
past
the
Brooklyn
Chest
Hospital.
We
recrossed
the
vlei
at
the
footbridge
between
Wemyss
Rd
in
Rugby
and
Milner
Street. |
